A reflection on the teaching

The saying contrasts two ways of approaching uncertainty. Emunah can provide a relationship within which we hold what we do not understand. Without that trust, even an explanation may leave us unsettled. The strong wording should not be used to silence sincere questions or imply that struggling with them makes a person faithless. We can seek understanding and remain connected to Hashem at the same time. What question needs learning or guidance today, and what responsibility can you continue to fulfill while the answer is still incomplete?
